Who are Chester and Donkey?

You might have (or not) noticed my new button and header. That, ladies and gentlemen, is Chester and Donkey. They are the stuffed animals I slept with the majority of my childhood ... and they were my Dad's, too. Awww.

When I was naming my blog, I wanted something different that would help me stand out. I think I accomplished that. I also wanted something personal, since the blog is about me. I originally planned on writing my blog just about my projects but its turned in to more than that so I think its fitting that I have a name that can embody everything I do.

I think I might attempt to create a tag line but for now, I'm happy with just my name ... Chester and Donkey along with their cute little mugs.

So, now I want to know ... was it challenging for you to come up with your blog name? How did you know when you found "the one"? Are you still happy with your name or would you like to change it?

Hope you're having a great week!

  1. I love it!! I stole your button right away! What a great story. My blog name just kinda came to me one day. I still really like it, but I sometimes wish that no one else had thought of it but me... there are some "other" vintage junkies out there. But, I will keep it because it fits me. Vintage stuff is seriously my drug!

    Have a great day!

  2. Love the story of chester & donkey. I've wondered about that name for awhile. I thought maybe those were the names of your cats. LOL.

My blog name "A Fine House" came to me when coming across a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson. It is in the sidebar of my blog. It just reminded me of my hubby and our home, which we built (well, we didn't build it literally, but you know what I mean).
Thanks for the story of Chester & Donkey. How precious that they belonged to your dad too.

  4. The wierd thing for me is that I have a pen name. I was afraid to use my own name with my first blog being about school. Now I wish it were more knick name like and less like a real name. I thought of "Jane" because of the classic reader "Dick and Jane." It's so hard to predict where blogging will take you. I found it hard to plan for the journey.
